Farewell and Thanks 2019

Dear Camper, Families and Supporters,

How fast the time flies!! It seems we just said hello and now it is already time to say farewell. It has truly been a remarkable and successful week of camp, full of all the joy and laughter, energy and spirit, growth and development, challenge and of course magic that a week at camp coming together entails. The buses will be departing shortly for Toronto and our campers and staff will be heading home. There will be many tears as we say our goodbyes - melancholic tears of sadness as new and old friends part ways, and tears of joy for the happy and special times that were shared together.

We really want to thank each of you, our amazing campers, for such an incredible time together. Whether it was your first time away or you are returning to camp, we hope that you will cherish the memories and experiences and always remember summer 2019 as you go onwards on your journeys. These times are gifts that we know you will carry in your hearts as you carry on in your day to day life. We, your team, have been deeply  inspired and awed by each of you - your fierce energy and positivity, our campers who overcame fear and  homesickness, those who bravely tried new activities like sailing, fishing, archery, or jumping into a cold lake for an evening swim. Watching how you face the moments of challenge, nervous trepidation, bravery and spirit is what inspires us most at camp. That first foray into the freezing cold lake, climing the rock wall, standing on the dining rool chairs and singig at the top of your lungs as though no one is watching..... memories we will all cherish forever.

We have truly appreciated you sharing your reflections, health care stories, your scars, such beautiful scars, your laughter, energy, fears, and fortitude. You each inspire us to carry forth and work harder each day. Camp is magic and we are so proud and grateful to be part of your journies.

Special thanks to each of our volunteer team: Our incredible camp nurses for your outstanding care day and night, your energy, fun and spirit: Jaina, Lindsay, Emily, Stacey, Krista, Maria, Tara, Kalyn, Liz, Elizabeth. Thanks to our amazing and passionate camp doctors: Dr. Nicola Jones, Dr. Yaron Avitzur, and Dr. Paul Wales; to our volunteer staff: Program Director Dan, Bernie, Susie, and all the Wenonah staff for you awesomeness... Thank you for supporting camp each year and being the backbone and life force of Kivita. So today, on behalf of your entire camp kivita team, we fervently hope that you will take the lessons learned at camp, the friendships you have made and hold tight tothe memories all year long. We will miss each of you!! Pleasestay in touch with us throughout the year by email: campkivita@gmail.com and check back periodically for more pictures, reflections and updates. Though we bid each of you farewell for now, we hope to see you each of you back at camp kivita next summer in 2020 as we grow. Thank you for a beautiful 2019.

Yours in Camping, Stacey,

On behalf of the Camp Leadership Team
