Post from Dan- thoughts on day 3:
Day 3 is in the books and despite some less-than-ideal weather, energy is high and campers are happy!
Over the course of the past few days, campers have really settled in and are looking right at home here at Wenonah.  The rainy weather this morning threatened to send some programs inside, but luckily mother natured co-operated for long enough to let us run cabin choice and interest sessions as planned.  A scavenger hunt around camp this morning had campers collecting leaves, singing songs, learning about camp, and even writing their own original poems about friendship; my two favourites are as follows:
Friendship's a cool thing
You get to befriend strangers
Haikus are the best
A friend is like and owl,
Both beautiful and wise.
Or perhaps a friend is like a ghost,
Who's spirit never dies.
A friend is like a heart
That goes strong until the end.
Where would we be in this world
If we didn't have a friend.
Our second all-camp campfire had all of Wenonah cozied up in the lodge around the big fire place, with performances by some great cabin groups and staff members.  We're all looking forward to seeing what our Kivita campers have to share with us
Thursday evening at our very own talent show, Camp Wenonah Little Theatre!
We're hoping the weather continues to be favourable, but are certainly prepared for a few cool and possible wet days ahead.  While we'll run as many programs as we can outdoors, we've got some great stuff up our sleeves if it turns into more of an indoor day!
Hard to believe we're almost half way through the week...
